The neighborhood
Žižkov
Rough edges, cheap pints, student energy

Žižkov is Prague's scruffy, lovable student quarter — famous for having more pubs per block than almost anywhere in Europe and for the space-age TV tower looming over it all. Rents are the lowest this close to the center, and the VŠE campus is a short walk downhill. It is noisier and grittier than Vinohrady next door, but locals will tell you it is safe — just loud on weekends.
